This old farmhouse kitchen was a combination of solid outdated oak cabinets and fake wood veneer on the island along with black builder grade rubber toe kick moldings. The kitchen was revived with a new custom island built to mimic the bead board door style. Some of the top cabinets were replaced with glass doors, the wood window valences were removed, and the toe kick was replaced with wood.  The kitchen was professional sprayed with Sherwin Williams Creamy and the backsplash was replaced with a modern stone subway tile.  New hardware was added to complete the look and to match the old hinges which were painted black and reused.  The update provides a much brighter and larger feeling to the space and gives the kitchen a modern twist without relinquishing its farmhouse roots.
